The soyabean meal is extracted from the soyabean, regarded as an important crop throughout the world. Soya meal is regarded as the best vegetable protein food source and accounts for over 65 % of the world’s protein requirements.
Much of the soyafeed is used as animal feed and rest is used for varied human consumption purposes like in baking and meat substitutes.
A solvent extraction method is used in the production of the soyabean meal where the beans are first crushed and subsequently , the soya oil and soyameal are extracted. It is a highly preferred food source as it is easily digestible , protein rich and also due to its energy giving nature. Soyabean is the preferred oilseed after groundnuts of which India in the largest producer. It is produced by solvent extraction method where the oil is extracted and then defatted.
Short time high temperature cooking of fire granulation defatted. Soyaflour in extruder results in round puffed product which is dried and packed aseptically as soya TVP granules. Extrusion cooking will impart good digestibility and polatibility of product and at the save time maintain the original quality of protein and remove the anti-nutritional factors. Most marine species were feed fish meal at one time, but the scarcity and increasing cost of fish meal has led producers to switch to high protein soyameal for a variety of marine species. Around the world, soy protein may be found in feed for most animals. Biocomposites are building materials made from recycled newspaper and soybeans. They replace other products traditionally made from wood, such as furniture, flooring, and counter tops.
